But Gaga played it relatively safe in the pretty embellished dress, which registered low on the technicolour richter scale given it's delicate ecru hue.
It was only when you looked at the patent monstrosities on her feet that the look started to take on a more traditionally Gaga-esque flavour.
But the plunging neckline which revealed her impressive cleavage coupled with the almost crotch high hem fold gave you an idea that this look wouldn't be accepted at Balmoral any time soon.
The eccentric singer posted an Instagram picture of herself in a patchwork white mask with just one eye, her nose and a peak of her mouth showing.
The Paparazzi performer posted the unusual selfie on Instagram on Saturday writing: 'Had too much fun with my facial masks.
'Does it look like Margiela?, she added with reference to the fashion house Maison Martin Margiela who earlier this year used crystal face masks to cover their runway models' features.
In reality she looked more like the serial killer cannibal from the hit Jodie Foster movie Silence of the Lambs.
