Kamaliya, a private jet to go for a curry

Are these the tackiest tycoons in Britain? Champagne baths. A private jet to go for a curry. Diamond-encrusted shotguns. Meet London's loaded Russian oligarchs

When Kamaliya Zahoor says that slipping into some champagne is a good way of perking yourself up, I fear a translation problem.

She is Russian after all, and has already apologised for her hesitant English. She means 'sipping' some champagne, surely? 'No, I mean bathing in it,' she beams.

'It's very good for the skin and for getting rid of - how do you say? - toxins. You need about 35 bottles to fill a bath, but I put a little water in too. It is good. You should try it.' Right. Next time I find myself married to a billionaire - as Kamaliya is - I shall. Radox: your days are numbered.

Kamaliya, 36, is the undisputed star of Meet The Russians, a new fly-on-the-wall documentary series which focuses on the lives and spectacular spending habits of the super-rich Russians snapping up all our best property (not to mention our football teams).

Those who agreed to take part in the programme include a woman billed as the Russian Victoria Beckham, a supermodel called Katia (who also happens to have a law degree), and an overworked Mr Fixit called Serg, whose job is to be up to speed on the best parties to go to, the most exclusive shops and the finest beluga caviar suppliers this side of Moscow.

But the most jaw-dropping contributors are undoubtedly Kamaliya and her husband Mohammad - the Donald and Ivana Trump of our age, but possibly more weird with it. He bought her a gold and diamond encrusted shotgun on Valentine's Day; she had the pool room of their mansion in Kiev in the Ukraine decorated with murals of her as a toga-draped goddess.

How rich are the Zahoors? Rich enough to have homes in London, Kiev, Moscow, Majorca, Dubai, Pakistan and the Cayman Islands. Oh, and a private jet - each. 'On the day I went to buy it I was only planning to get one, but the more I thought about it the more I realised it would make sense for Kamaliya to have one too,' says Mohammad.
